The Division of Diversity, Equity and 包容 actively seeks challenges and opportunities for improvement within our communities to foster and nurture an inclusive environment and develop responsible global citizens. Aligning with UNC’s vision of 增强包容性, in the "Rowing, Not Drifting" vision report and using our core equity-minded and community principles, 该部门 of Diversity, Equity and 包容 is charged to lay the foundation for equity and inclusion, develop short- and long-term strategies and organize working groups to nurture ongoing individual and organizational professional development and 受教育机会.
Meet the Vice President for Division of Diversity, Equity and 包容, Dr. 托拜厄斯 古斯曼
Dr. 托拜厄斯古斯曼 serves as the Vice President for 该部门 of Diversity, Equity
and 包容 at the 北科罗拉多大学 (UNC), which includes all operations
associated with the seven cultural and resource centers, the Colorado Opportunity
Scholarship Initiative (阿大), and the Upward Bound Program.
Dr. 古斯曼 approaches his work with a focus on building relationships and fostering
关怀文化. These central tenets drive 关怀文化 philosophy where students
and their experiences are a top priority. He works diligently to provide students
with the necessary resources they need to progress along their path to success.
Dr. Guzman’s research dedication focuses on customer service, social justice, equity
and inclusion, and preventing student departure. 他创造了各种策略
and initiatives to advance the overall experience for such students. 另外,博士. 古斯曼
has a particular interest in working with first-generation and historically marginalized

An alumnus of UNC, 托拜厄斯 returned to his alma mater in 2000 after serving in various
roles at Plymouth State University and University of Toledo. 托拜厄斯手里拿着黑棋
belt with 25 years of experience in the traditional Japanese art of karate (Wado-Ryu).
As a dedicated member of his community, 托拜厄斯 has served on numerous University and
community committees/boards including Chair of the City of Greeley Human Relations
Commission, Board Member of the Greeley Transitional House, presenter and facilitator
for Greeley-Evans School District, member of the State Advisory Council for Parent
Involvement in Education, Board Member for United Way of Weld County and Board Member
加州大学健康格里利医院. 托拜厄斯 resides in Greeley with his wife and daughter,
who are also actively involved in the community.
